Kygo's performance at Madison Square Garden in 2022 featured a carefully planned laser layout that enhanced the visual experience for the audience. Under the guidance of laser designer John Dickson, the 16 Laser Animation Phaenon laser projectors, supplied by ER-Productions, were positioned to maximize impact and coverage.
Of the 16 projectors, 8 lined the downstage edge, casting vibrant beams of light across the stage and reaching out to the audience, creating an immersive atmosphere. Two additional projectors adorned the DJ riser, accentuating Kygo's presence and adding dynamic visual effects to his performance.
To frame the stage and provide depth to the visual display, one projector graced each side of the video wall, illuminating the stage with cascading beams of light. Additionally, four projectors were flown in the grid above, firing down to hit the stage for effects like simulating a laser igniting a pyro board, allowing for versatile and dynamic lighting effects that filled the space with captivating patterns and colors.
The Laser Animation Phaenon projectors, renowned for their high-quality beam divergence and enhanced with an added yellow OPSL (Optically Pumped Semiconductor Laser) component, delivered unparalleled visual impact. This thoughtful layout ensured that every corner of the venue was bathed in mesmerizing laser light, complementing Kygo's music and creating an unforgettable concert experience. In synergy with the lighting design crafted by Joe Watrach and the creative direction of Sean Lascelles, the laser arrangement contributed significantly to shaping the immersive ambiance of the show, leaving a profound impact on all who attended.
