In 2022, KYGO's electrifying performances in Mexico City captivated audiences, with two sold-out nights hosting a total of 40,000 enthusiastic fans. As part of the production team, our challenge was to adapt the grid design to accommodate the available gear, resulting in a transformation that breathed new life into the visual experience. Drawing inspiration from the rich cultural heritage of Mexico and paying homage to the pyramids of the ancestral peoples of the land, we utilized lasers to accentuate the pyramid shape of the grid. Spearheading the laser programming and operation was John Dickson, hired by ER-Productions. This innovative approach also contributed to the immersive atmosphere that left a lasting impression on attendees.
